The darkest of the Belgian crystal malts, Dingemans Special B will impart a heavy caramel taste and is often credited with the raisin-like flavors of some Belgian Abbey ales. Larger percentages (great than 5%) will contribute a dark brown-black color and fuller body. 140 - 155 L
Through its unique double drying process, Dingemans Special B® has a distinctive aroma and flavor. Special B is responsible for the intense caramel taste and raisin-like flavor of some Belgian Abbey beers. It can be used in place of chocolate and black malt when deep color without bitterness is not desired.
